ponyo! ponyo!
new miyazaki! but.. since this is released through disney the voices have been redone with fancy schmancy english-speaking actors, including cate blanchett, matt damon, tina fey, lily tomlin, and liam neeson. apparently it’s about a young goldfish girl who wants to become human, a la the little mermaid, but awesome-er.
this should be good, since just about everything that comes out of studio ghibli is pure gold. in theaters august 14.
EDIT: the original trailer (the US version) has been taken down because of violation or some BS. so here’s the japanese trailer. it’s interesting to note the differences between the two. the japanese version is a lot happier, the US version is a lot more uh.. serious. if you’re interested, you can find the US version here.
